The Disappearance of Anthonette Cayedito, Part 1

The Disappearance of Anthonette Cayedito

     Background Information:

Anthonette Cayedito was born on December 25, 1976, and lived with Mom, Penny Cayedito, and   two younger sisters: Sadie and Wendy (both 7 and 5, respectively, when Anthonette, 9, went missing). Anthonette’s father is Anthony Montoya. No one has found Anthonette and she hasn’t been seen since her disappearance, on April 6, 1986. Anthonette is described as being a little “mother hen” to her younger sisters.

Beyond the Case, Crystal Gutierrez and partner, Louis: The

Disappearance of Anthonette Cayedito, Part 1:

● On April 6, 1986, Anthonette disappeared with no trace, no belongings missing,
and no forced entry.
● Emo brings flowers to the 9 year old and a necklace, the night before her
disappearance.
● About a year later, a phone call came.
● There are 4 theories in the beginning, but they are later narrowed to two (during
Part 2 of the series):
1. A friend/known person took her.
2. Mom sold her for drugs and can’t remember (won’t?) to whom she sold
Anthonette (there were police raids on the house before Anthonette’s
disappearance).
3. She ran away from home (there were speculations that there was abuse going
on in the Cayedito home.
4. Someone took her and sold her (sex trade?)
Per Sadie’s interview with Crystal and Louis (Beyond the Case or BTC), Mom was
getting ready to go out that night and Emo showed up with flowers and a gift for
Anthonette (we know it’s a bear necklace).
