The Abduction of Bryan Dos Santos-Gomes

The Abduction of Bryan Dos Santos-Gomes

According to the FBI, Bryan was about 3-4 weeks old, on December 1, 2006, when a female who  was described as Mexican-American, kidnapped him.  Bryan was kidnapped near his home, in Fort Myers, FL. Rumors say he was kidnapped, due to his parents being here, in the U.S. illegally; and, that his parents fell behind in the payments.

According to The Charley Project, the mother, Maria, and her friend, Janice Duarte were waiting for the bus, when the alleged kidnapper approached the pair, looking for directions to her mother’s house (my notes- who doesn’t know where her mother’s house is?!)

The alleged kidnapper followed the bus, approached the pair once more (my notes- WHY follow the bus? What did she think was going to happen? The two women obviously didn’t know where her mother lived. So it was a ruse.) They got into her vehicle, with Bryan. The woman allowed the friend to leave. (my notes- WHO gets into a stranger’s car!?)

The alleged kidnapper demanded $500, made threats to harming the families, said she was going to Tampa, FL. The mother, Maria, said the abduction was planned because there was a car seat and diaper bag already in the car. Not long after Bryan’s abduction, a female approached a grandmother out with her grandchild. Later, she and Maria chose the same woman out of a line-up. It’s not clear what the woman wanted with the grandmother.

The Naples Daily News is the first that mentions the kidnapper using a knife to kidnap Maria, Bryan, and Maria’s friend. Fox 4’s update said the National Center for Missing and Exploited children is pushing for more tips.
